Who we are

Obvious is an automation studio. We build AI automations for small businesses, working remotely across the UK and EU. For anything in this policy, we are the data controller. You can reach us at hello@obvious.co.

What we collect

We keep this to the minimum we need to do the job.

• When you book a call: your name, your email or phone number, the time you picked and anything you tell us about your business.

• When you email or message us: your contact details and what you write.

• When you visit this site: anonymous usage data, like which pages are read and the type of device. No advertising trackers, and no cookies that follow you around the web.

• During a project: access to the tools you choose to connect, and the business data inside them that the automation needs.

How we use it

• To reply to you, run your call and write your plan.

• To build, test and support the automations you've asked for.

• To send invoices and keep the records the law requires.

• To understand which pages help people, so we can improve the site.

We won't add you to a newsletter or pass your details to anyone for marketing.

Your project data

We build inside your own accounts, using access you give us. We only touch the data an automation needs, and you can remove our access at any time. When an automation uses an AI model, we use business plans where the provider doesn't train on your data.

Your data is yours. We only borrow access to it, and we give it back when the job is done.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the business: email and calendar, video calls, website hosting, payments and accounting. They only get what they need to provide their service, under their own data protection terms. We never sell personal data.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don't become projects: 12 months, then deleted.

• Project and billing records: 6 years, because UK tax law requires it.

• Access to your tools: removed when the project and its support period end.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to see, correct, move or delete the data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Just email us, as there's no form to fill in. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) or your local regulator.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects current clients, we'll email them first.
